As I sit in one of my Nomad offices, I look down at the bottle of hand sanitizer on my desk. How did we get here? I wonder. How did we get to a point where we wear masks all the time and sanitize about everything?
In this split second it dawns on me that we are in a hell of a journey. Nothing we have done could have prepared us for a world pandemic. No planning or sensitivity analysis took notice of a black swan event, a viral airborne decease. This almost makes one feel as if planning is futile.
Mind over matter is more important than ever before. In a changing world, a world where the past 30 years have seen more change than the preceding millennium, we simply cannot keep holding on to that which we knew, the ways in which we have always been doing things. No, planning is not futile, not adapting to the times and applying yourself accordingly is.
Realising that change is the only constant will ensure that you focus on mind over matter. Control the controllable and manage the rest as best you can.
Embrace change and be the future.
Embrace the Nomad in you.
