The world is ever more connected, online and cloud-based. Holding on to analogue processes and paper-based methods will mean you can’t link with client, suppliers and other businesses who are adapting to new digital norms.
If your business doesn’t have a discoverable online presence, and your back-office functions are not cloud-based then you simply won’t keep up. More than this, if your mindset, search for new opportunities, and views on expansion are stale and stuck in ‘how we have always done things” and ‘what we know” then it’s game over. Far too many businesses in this country are still operating as they did 10, 15 and even 20 years ago.
What are we doing about it? A lot. I am navigating this myself, and strongly encouraging other South African business owners to do the same. I am excited about the possibilities we have, and how to maximize those.
We are working on a platform called www.nomad.cloud which will serve as a tool for owners to get the guidance and support they need in terms of the mindset, systems and exposure to new ways of doing.
At Cronjé & Cronjé we have been driving home the cloud-based accounting solutions for some years now, with great results. I look to launch a labour solution this year with a cloud-based approach as well. So, much to look forward to!
